It's a Trap! ( 11/06 - 11/12 )

Fall is here and it's time to collect food. For some, that means laying out traps. Snares, deadfalls, bear traps, cages, pits starting appearing all over the city, so be careful where you step! But it's not only those that you have to watch out for. Blankets seem to be intent on keeping you in bed, shoes can start growing teeth, cabinet doors, the alleyway outside the house, that one squeaky floorboard in the hallway... You never know when the trap will be sprung!
We're All Mad Here ( 11/20 - 11/26 )

Every night when you sleep, you dream, but is it a dream? You go to sleep, but you wake up somewhere... else. Somewhere else with restraints. With a hospital smell. With your powers warded or not there at all. There are doctors and nurses, and they are surprised to see you awake. Awake, they say, for the first time in quite a while... Adstringendum? No dear, we're sorry, that must be a product of your hallucinations. But what about that one time I-- Now, let's not get too excited... We wouldn't want to trigger another episodic break, now would we?

Just out of curiosity, how are people thinking of incorporating the second event in-game?

I was thinking it would be interesting to outline what the character is seeing in their dream state, but it's not exactly something that allows for CR since people can only react and interact with the character while they're awake. Definitely, people would share what they've dreamed on the network, but it might be interesting to see what other applications people come up with.

I'd love to work toward something a little more dynamic and creative. Anyone interested in sharing thoughts/plotting?

I'm definitely going to do it. I'd love to read stuff that others come up with too, it could be really interesting to see where they take it.

I think there's so much potential to really see some awesome character-driven pieces! It's a credit to the game that people are so willing to come up with interesting plots and really run with concepts like this! :D

We have a really talented group of writers here, absolutely. It's gonna be great.

Thinking of having one or two characters just... not sleep. It's not too creative, but it's another option with a whole new set of problems.

One of mine, this kid here, is going to automatically know it's not real simply because his situation ensures that he would never end up in an asylum.

I think not sleeping is a really creative option for people who don't really want to participate, as opposed to just ignoring the event all together!

Honestly, I don't think Sokka will be too easily convinced Adstringendum is all some sort of hallucination considering how much of an impression it's leaving on him. I thought that perhaps he could be convinced by the end of the event, but as soon as he woke up in the morning, he'd know it was just an event, so it kind of nullifies things in a way.

...unless they're supposed to stay asleep the whole week when they're participating in the event. (Come to think of it, it could be interesting if people were more apt to be comatose because then people who resist or aren't evented could angst over their unresponsive, comatose friends.)

It's certainly one way to go for a character who wants to believe that Adstring is the real deal.

I think the idea is that after a while, you don't know which is the dream and which is waking up, thus the fact that it's an event could be the mind's excuse for it to make the hallucination work. But yeah, after the event was over, it would be iffy because no matter which is real, this is the one you're stuck with.

I guess some people might subconsciously cling to whichever one they deem to be reality, so while some people would not want to sleep, some people would want nothing more than to sleep.
