Visitor Name: Kitty Jones
Visitor Canon: The Bartimaeus Trilogy
Who the Visitor is For: Nathaniel

Visitor Journal: this one!
Brief Description or Sample:

Kitty Jones is in many ways Nathaniel's opposite. She was born and raised a commoner, and although her parents are happy with the status quo as it is, she's always had many questions. She'd bother her teachers and parents and friends as she poked holes in the propaganda she was fed and ideals she was told to believe in. She's - well, she's difficult, her parents would say. She refuses to conform to societal expectations and norms; she was a tomboy from a young age who preferred to play with Jakob Hyrnek even if he was automatically suspect for being Czech. Her vague sense of mistrust for magicians came to a head one warm day when she and he decided to play in a private park and accidentally brought down the wrath of a magician on them. The magician had his spirit set a horrible spell on them, and despite the many physical defects Jakob suffered as a result of it, Kitty was unharmed. She is resilient to magic, able to bounce back from magical blows that ought to kill a person.

This event and its unfair aftermath sparked her already stubborn and headstrong personality into focusing all of her rage and grief against the magicians and their oppressive rule. She joins an organization called the Resistance, but even then she pokes and questions and sees the flaws in their approaches to fighting the magicians. Meetings with Bartimaeus inspire her to learn more about the magic system rather than eschew it entirely, even if the words come from a spirit - or a "demon" as she called him - himself. Kitty is exceedingly practical and open-minded, idealistic and optimistic in ways that can surprise the people around her. She refuses to give up no matter how bad circumstances get and takes information when it's given to her (and when it's not, more than happy to take it by force on her own, whether literally or through the hard work of study).
