The thing is, they're a pair of souls occupying a single body and each is undeniably aware of the other's presence whether they think about it or not, particularly since the 'dormant' one gets to watch whatever the 'active' one is doing and they can communicate mentally.

First runner up for both of them is Gaignun, who they share a mental link with of the variety that if they don't actively not send their thoughts to him, said thoughts leak out. Obviously, either of them would be impossible to entirely forget in these circumstances, so would the links be severed or would they just forget details and how they're related and just be left wondering WTF is up with all these mind shenanigans since they would obviously remember if one of their siblings was in the city?
