→SHAKE, RATTLE & ROLL

On May 28th, the little earthquakes that have been rocking Adstringendum all month will give way to the big momma: a powerful earthquake will hit the city in the early afternoon. Structures that are not well reinforced, including abandoned buildings or buildings that have existing structural damage, may collapse, completely or partially. Pavement will crack, pipes and buried structures are likely to be damaged or burst, and anyone outside will be in danger from flying debris.

Sections of the Great Wall surrounding the city (highlighted in red) will be damaged, split and partially collapsed as well, including a section in the northwest quadrant that will collapse into the river and partly dam it, creating a new, shallow lake outside the remaining city wall there and preventing the river from flowing for a few days while water accumulates outside the walls.

The generator in the NW quadrant will be damaged by the event and remain out of commission for about a month.

A large sinkhole will appear in the southwest quadrant, about a kilometer and a half from the lake.

One of the bridges over the river in the northeast quadrant will collapse, leaving only a single intact bridge.

In the southeast quadrant, a large, steep-sided fault will open up between Fallingwater and Solve et Coagula. It will be shallow at either end, allowing any curious explorers to enter, but up to 30' deep at the widest point near the center. Explorers may discover strange, human-shaped cracks in the walls of the fault... but none of the silhouettes are familiar.
