Pre-Compression ( 04/08 - 04/14 ) Buildings stand perfect, pristine, and totally abandoned. Lights flicker, lifts work sometimes and if you can find a radio or television all it repeats is the last few seconds of something, over and over again. Computers only display the page they were on, vehicles stand silent and unmoving. Weird flickers in the corners or your eye, like you just missed seeing something--or someone. The world of Adstringendum is as it was, seconds before compression. Note: Anything kept on your character when the event ends will be 'recompressed', meaning you might end up with a laser gun with a can of peas melded into the middle. Useful, no, but still cool, right?

Ten Years Later ( 04/22 - 04/28 ) Suggested by Kisa Flash forward, it’s ten years into the future of Adstringendum and you've been here all this time! What's happened over the years? Events, deaths, new friends, old enemies, marriages, all the dramatic and mundane happenings of the city, not to mention those older faces. After all, ten years is enough time for the scientists to have finally managed to fix that pesky time-compression problem somewhere along the way, right? The whole city (people, buildings, animals) are older now; ten years of history in Adstringendum. What have you been doing?

If I were to opt out of the event, rather than have the +10 years characters think my characters were de-aged 10 years by an event (??), would it be alright to assume that mine had gone home or perma-died in like 2-3 years from now, or something? :|a And then suddenly showed up again after being gone x number of years?

Kida is totally cool with it as long as Sokka lets him know what color everything is. Wouldn't want to serve some tough guy a pink glass. Also, around year 5, he'll start wearing a yellow scarf tied around his upper arm every day. If that helps.

The scarf will definitely help with recognition! And Sokka's totally down with telling Kida the right colors. He'll probably associate the scarf with the color blindness (and therefore recognize Kida is Kida), so it works out!

I'd definitely like to get more into the specifics of how these two had their friendship fall apart.

Also, we totally need more current CR, bb. Totally!

Well, I have to put a post together with info, but Sokka will totally appreciate having Ginny close by.

Snape's going to kill Sokka in year 9, and then Sokka's loss is going to be face recognition, so hopefully people won't be too perturbed in having to fill in their names and/or wait for Sokka to take in context clues. XD

Hmmm. Well, Kida isn't exactly an upright citizen. He has a lot of secrets that people in Adstring would think are dumb, and yet he constantly lies about them anyway. He has a temper, though it rarely pops up. And he has a bad habit of running away from things rather than facing them, or facing them too late. All that and more could have contributed.

Are you asking if it would be alright for other characters to think that's what happened to your character? Or if your character would think that's what happened to them sometime during the last ten years?

It being the POV of your character, yes.

It being the POV of other characters, maybe! It's possible logistically so long as his perceived age hasn't changed from now to then. If that makes sense? But you'll have to let other muns know since I guess the 'default' would be aged-down event perception. His retaining his memories (since he's unaffected) would be explained by somehow memories being able to be compressed and decompressed with departures and arrivals sometime over the last ten years due to the scientists having manged to fix that bit of things.

And of course, the two aren't mutually exclusive since if he thinks that that's what happened in the last ten years, then others will too.
