Battle Royale Event Information

BATTLE ROYALE

The Animus may have been quiet recently, but now they're returning with a vengeance. Near the end of July, some of Adstringéndum's residents will find themselves trapped inside the earthquake-shaken and partly collapsed remains of the old mall... with a few additions: deadly weapons litter the ground, and there's a voice on the crackling PA system telling them that they have only two choices... Kill or be killed.

→ OUTSIDE THE MALL

- Characters who are not inside the mall (and therefore not combatants) will be able to view anything happening inside as an ongoing video feed over the network. Video will resemble surveillance cameras; there will be some sound, but it may be staticky or hushed. Different areas of the mall will be visible on different feeds, so characters may have to switch the video they are viewing if they want to keep an eye on their friends. - Announcements made inside the mall will not be audible to those outside, but the Announcer will show up on the main network occasionally during the event in order to tell everyone who is still alive. - Characters outside the mall will discover that it appears to be entirely surrounded by a transparent barrier. Physical force will have no effect against the barrier. Trying to use supernatural powers to break it may result in backlash (comment here if your character would use magic or other powers to try and break in, and we can plot out the result!)

→ INSIDE THE MALL

- If you want your character to participate in the event as a combatant inside the mall, please let us know via a comment on this post before July 20th. - Characters who die within the mall during this event will not need to pay death prices. Instead, they will remain dead (complete with all the nasty decomposition side effects) until the end of the final day of the event, at which point they will return to life. Fatal wounds and post-mortem injuries will be completely healed, although other wounds suffered during the event may remain. However, characters will not ICly know that they will not have to pay a death price; in fact, the Announcer may lead them to believe they won't be coming back at all.... - There will be no supernatural powers working within the mall, including magical senses or psychic abilities such as telepathy/telekinesis. Natural physical abilities greater than human (for instance, alien or vampire strength and speed) will be reduced to the human maximum -- Superman might be at the fitness level of an Olympic athlete, but he wouldn't be running faster than a locomotive or leaping tall buildings. Shape-changing or shifting abilities will not function, although other natural attributes of non-human physiology, such as bloodlust, enhanced senses, sharp claws and sharp teeth, will remain. - Characters inside the mall will not have their PCDs. They will not be able to access the network for communication or to view any of the video feeds or announcements visible to characters outside. Characters outside will be able to send messages to them (as though they were lost in the Wastes) but those messages will not be received until the end of the event. - A variety of weapons can be found within the mall, from simple (knives, brass knuckles, baseball bats) to technologically advanced items such as handguns. High explosives or long-range items such as sniper rifles will not be available. All weapons will appear real and functional, but some (at random, and at players' discretion) may transform into harmless foam, Nerf, or squirt guns when used on another player. - Food and water will be available at certain locations within the mall (indicated on the map). This food will be canned or dry (e.g. stale crackers in plastic, cans of ravioli or beans) rather than fresh or already prepared. - Some NPC characters will also be present within the mall, armed, and dangerous: these are NOT the scientists or other named NPCs, but rather the nameless characters, also from other worlds, who comprise part of the Adstringéndum population. PCs may not team up with NPCs, nor count them among total kills for the purpose of determining prizes. You may, however, use the NPCs to pose a threat to your character or have your character kill them at will. (Need an excuse to be blood-spattered? Murder an NPC.) - There is no limit on the number of "winning" characters -- any character still alive inside the mall at the end of the event will be considered a winner. Every character participating in the event will receive something for their trouble: Condition Prize Killed during the event They will return to life wearing a neon-colored T-shirt with a cartoonish red blood splatter at (or as close as possible to) the location of their fatal wound and the text, in black Comic Sans, "[Name of Killer] Murdered Me, And All I Got Was This Shirt." The first PC to die will also get a dead rat. Survived to the end, but did not kill A rubber chicken. Survived, and killed between 1 - 5 PCs An item from, or similar to items on, the "Mod Permission" list on the Supplies post. Survived, and killed more than 5 PCs An item that appears to be from their home world (within reason -- an iPod full of music, for example, or a favorite tea set.)

- At midnight on July 28th, the barrier around the mall will go down. - Character powers will be restored the moment the barrier goes down. Characters who have died inside the mall will be restored to life wherever their bodies happen to be at that moment. - Their PCDs and their prizes will be found in their pockets or near them on the ground. They will be able to view the past week's video feeds in full detail. - All weapons found in the mall during the event will be transformed into useless foam or Nerf guns, including ammunition. Weapons not currently in a character's possession will disappear entirely.

→ OOC ORGANIZATION

- Event logs for characters inside the mall will be posted on July 20th on the adstringendumlog community. - Please feel free to use the comment section of this post in order to plot with other players or ask any questions that are not covered by the information in this post. - An OOC post will go up at the beginning of the event for players to leave comments if their character is killed inside the mall. These deaths will be announced ICly by the Announcer NPC, and will be used to determine which characters earn which prizes. Since battle logs often take a while to finish, particularly if players happen to be available at different times, we strongly recommend plotting OOC in order to determine the outcome of fights and make sure that death tallies are as accurate as possible.

We're going to allow both souls to remain active and interchangeable as you please. And the pigmentation will be allowed since it's not really a supernatural power.

1. Considering all "supernatural" abilities are being nerfed for this, this connection will be temporarily blocked with no ill effects to either the person or the lizard. So no, communication with firelizards will not be possible.

2. There will be here and there, but I wouldn't call them too terribly common. There are an Animus entity or two that might be interested in being a little helpful, after all~

3. Basically, whatever can be found there normally can be found there during this event. c: So you're going to be able to find some clothing and such, but nothing high-quality, and probably a lot of ill-fitting things. Containers and the like will also not be guaranteed to not have holes in them.

4. They're turned human for this event, yes! c: Also, kind of sort of related but mostly just for reference, a good rule of thumb I'd suggest for this event would be "Could anyone IRL do this?" Learned/practiced skills like martial arts, swordfighting, above-average strength, etc. are fine, but things like magic, telekinesis, kamehamehas, etc. are not.

Then go ahead and sign them up. Albedo is going to have so much fun. Rubedo would too if he knew the only penalty for losing was some soreness...though he still might, depending on who he fights and how much his bloodlust gets kicked up.

Also totally up for having Alex or Mary as first kill, though I'd also be very much up for Mary being all sweet and convincing someone to help protect her at the beginning.

I'm up for any/all getting murderlated by people too! Asagi is the most likely to survive, but he is going to go blood-lust crazy. It isn't that he'll lack any logic, but he will take any chance he can to see blood spilled. Anyone's.

Comment if you want a cute little girl or a scary guy to kill you! Or if you want to kill someone~

To the mods: Izumi is a supernatural symbiote, but mostly just exists to modify Asagi's powers and help him control that blood-lust. Would Izumi still be with Asagi, or essentially muted to other people (can't show up or talk to others)/ shunted out/ cease existing for a week?

Adendum: Will the lights be *on* in the mall?

Also, are scythes on the find-able weapons list?

Gold and Gabriel are in. Gabriel will probably be following Castiel around like a puppy and will kill if he has to, but he's REALLY BAD AT IT.

Gold, however, needs his spinning wheel. COME ON PCS, COME GET BLUDGEONED TO DEATH BY AN OLD GUY... so long as Belle isn't watching. Or if she gets hurt/killed... oooh.

EDIT: Gabriel will be setting death traps instead of actually physically fighting once Castiel is dead.

Mary will make all the sad faces at Urahara if she can find him. Then try to get her hands on as many weapons as possible. She won't backstab him, but Ads has toughened her up. She'd have his back.

Rome will be running around and trying to protect people from the... more prolific killers and crying 'NO IT'S OKAY NOBODY HAS TO KILL ANYBODY D8'. I'd like for him to maybe kill one or two people, but he'd only really do it in self defense |D

And this is awful, but I sort of want one of the people he's protecting to stab him in the back and kill him. :C


Yamamoto is going to think that this is a virtual reality game... :\ Which means that he won't hold back at all :o I think he may be teaming up with Mukuro at some point to protect one another? Regardless, he's a pretty decent (shounen manga) fighter, especially if he can find a blade or baseball bat of somekind, so I don't think he'll be dying, but I'm definitely open to it!

Would you be interested in Mukuro and Asagi fighting? Neither of them have to die (unless we want it to go that way), but it might be fun to see them face off and spill a little blood!

Asagi would stab him in the back before he goes on his blood-lust spree. Heck, at first Asagi would be honestly trying to help and keep himself checked. But tearing people apart is just so much fun!

Both of mine are going to be in!

JANE is not the strongest, does not have much training, is not the fastest, and really is not suited for the battlefield. She will do her best to defend others and herself, and will be like those who try to tell others that not killing is necessary. More than likely, if someone really wants to, they can mess with her, chase her around, and then kill her. I won't mind her dying.

SPOCK is gonna find the limits for his strength and that interesting, and he will be testing them a bit. He, of course, will not kill unless he absolutely has to and there is no other choice for him. Saying that, he has had a lot of training, is more than used to surviving in hostile conditions, and can kick some ass. Not to mention the Vulcan nerve pinch. It totally works.


So yeah! I am up for either one or both of them dying or surviving, but they will not likely kill anyone. Jane because she can't and Spock because he won't.

I kind of want Asagi to get at least one kill and survive so he can get some cigarettes. However, if the death is awesome enough, I'm for it.

If at all possible he'll be working with a scythe, since that would move most like his usual supernatural appendages do.

Sheik is totally in for this! Thankfully she's been on the run for 7 years back home, so she knows how to be sneaky and avoid dangerous situations (even without Deku Nuts to help her). And while she wouldn't outright hunt people down, she'd be able to take down a few people if necessary and if she's able to locate some knives.

I'm up for her dying if the plot works out that way. Though I may want her to live to get an item, not sure. Like i said, depends on plotting!

Rip is definitely in on this. I'd also love to have her manage killing one or more people. That, and she's going to be sooo confused at being human. [Assuming all supernatural beings like vampires are human for this event-thing?] So yeah. Rip does have 50+ military experience and deadly accuracy with a gun.

It should also be noted that I either A. want her to live through this or B. Don't want her to die until the very end. Like, she thinks she's going to make it then Surprise! Someone gets her in the back.

So, with that in mind,who want's to play with Rip? Also perfectly fine doing fights that DON'T end in death [but please, can we have a few that do??]

I'm planning to give Mukuro some sort of fun, destructive weapon... like a nailbat or a hatchet or something. Bloody and not very precise. He'd hate it.

Toothiana will not kill anyone. It goes against her convictions. That doesn't mean she will not hesitate to incapacitate people though. She's ruthless in battle and awesome at duel-wielding swords so watch out. If it comes down to it, she'd rather be killed than kill though so have fun with that.

Tatsuki will not hesitate to kill anyone if it means his survival. He may partner up with people if it's to his advantage but if he suspects you may turn on him, he'll turn on you first. :'D Gotta' watch your own back and all that. I don't mind him dying for the event though and would love for him to kill someone in self-defense!

Mukuro would have to run. Asagi would give chase until something else got put in front of him, like some poor NPC. Then that would get murderlated and Mukuro could get away.

If he came close to dying he'd run given the chance, but then he'd probably start hunting Mukuro XD oops.

Mukuro has no problem running from a fight if he thinks it's the smart thing to do! He'll probably be hanging around with Yamamoto and possibly Zero too, so Asagi would potentially be taking on a group instead of one target... nothing's set in stone yet, though!
