Halloween starts out like everything’s alright (for most people), but daylight seems to be disappearing just a bit faster than normal, even with winter arriving. And that feeling you’ve had for the past week or so? It’s a bit stronger, you’re just a little jumpier and everything seems a tad different. More… sinister, so to speak. It’s a trick, simply figments of your imagination, the Animus taunting you, or simply the calm of this past month making you paranoid.

A colorful array of red, magenta, orange and yellow balloons fall from the sky, coming in various sizes, from small to normal to as big as beach balls, tempting you to play with them. They're insanely durable, too! You can bounce on them in balloon races, or kick them around like a soccer ball. Seemingly endless fun. But its all just a deceptive ploy for what lies beneath...

When night falls, all of the red balloons will start to explode one after the other. They can set off the other red balloons in a domino effect. The smaller the balloon, the bigger the explosion! Some will just make noise while others will act like flash or smoke bombs.

You might think it's over when dawn arrives, but even more balloons drift down from the sky. What are the magenta and orange balloons for? They merely make it harder to locate the red balloons, from which you can only be saved if you pop them during daylight hours. Some of those popped during the day will even leave you with certain practical gifts like scarves, mittens or even small tins of food, so give it a shot!

So, if a character went looking for the source of the giggling in the carnival, what would they find?

Stuffed animals and dolls that have come to life. Maybe some of the merry go round horses as well.

Some of these might already be possessed by the pumpkins though!
